34 Weeks and Counting [Jan. 3rd, 2007|02:51 pm]

Has it ever been a long time. I'm a bit of a tard when it comes to these things...Today I am sick from work and I really need a break so here I am.

Our baby is very active and has not popped out yet. (that is a good thing because it is still quite early).

It probably weighs somewhere around 5 lbs or so ...according to some of the books I read. My whole pregnancy has been really good. I haven't really had any problems.

Christmas was great this year, we spent time with both sides of our family and everyone was there...for BOTH!!

My last day of work is approaching...Jan 15th is my lucky day!

Well I should get back to napping...makes me feel better.

Nothing special [Nov. 14th, 2006|07:25 pm]
[Current Road Rage |cheerfulcheerful]

As time goes on for our little one and I, the movements get stronger and my belly continues to grow. I don't know how much it's grown and we still have another appointment to go to for our latest blood-work. I get to drink a sugary substance to test for diabetes...yum (I think it's going to be gross).

Baby now likes to kick me in the bladder and scratch up in my ribs from time to time...now people at work can see it move inside and one guy thinks it looks like a scene off of the movie ALIEN ...that makes me feel great and NOT grossed out by the strange movements inside my tummy. One night I got so weirded-out that I almost puked and prayed for the baby not to move for a little while...it was a really hard punch or kick and it was sooo strange.

I can't wait to have our own little nerd-ling to cuddle and play with...I think Kurt's getting more excited every day...and now I feel like we can do this thing called being a parent (or not...I just called our baby a nerd-ling).

Well talk to you later...whoever you are...

Back at 'er again [Oct. 24th, 2006|09:29 pm]

Well it's definitely been a long time since the last time I updated...Sorry to my adoring fans who support and encourage me as I go.

So as you would probably guess I have been for my 18week ultrasound already as I am now 24 weeks or so. The belly has grown incredibly over the last few weeks now everyone can tell that there's something in there. I can REALLY tell that there is a little active person inside my growing abdomen. Yes it's a mover and shaker...in fact it likes to kick Kurt in the ear when he rests his head on my tummy.

Right now our baby:
weighs around 2lbs...
is about 10 inches long...
loves to kick me in the bladder and sometimes poke up in my ribs...
has a better chance at survival if born early...(safer after 25weeks)
it's bones are hardening
the bronchi of the lungs are growing, not fully mature yet...
it's nostrils are open and he/she is practicing breathing
brainwaves are the same as a newborn
and now it has learned to sleep in the day and play at night... (yay.)I rock it to sleep with the walking around I do all day and my soothing is always going while I walk around with customers.

My skin is stretching around my ginormous belly and hopefully the stretch marks can wait until I'm a little further along. I've only gained 10lbs so far, but I read that I will consistently be putting on about a pound a week from now on. (another yay.)

Very exciting.

My best friend Fran had a little baby boy October 17th in the afternoon. His name is Finnan James Lochbihler...(am I allowed to say that on here?). Gold ol' 8lbs and 3.5oz. If you wanna see him go see Jon's blog jonloch.com
SO EXCITING!!!

Hellooo again [Sep. 14th, 2006|12:43 pm]
[Current Parking Spot |work work work...]

So it's been a little while since my last informative update.

My belly actually kind of looks like a baby belly now. Pretty soon everyone will KNOW just by looking at me.

Last Saturday evening I felt the baby move and by the force I knew it HAD to be the baby. Like I tell everyone this thing is either a boxer or a soccer player because it got me real good. Since that day movements have become easier to feel but none have been as strong as that.

Kurt is leading a biking trip for a couple days so I've been trying to tidy up and make our house comfy again. Oh and the cutest thing happened last night (it kind of reminded me of Fran and I). Our basement dwellers (well one of them) made us cookies last night, it was so sweet, and they tasted good too. I also watched Bench Warmers for the very first time last night, I thought it was cute, and I love dumb humor (but I am pregnant so it may not be that good...who knows) It wasn't even that dirty.

Man...this is lame if this is all I have to talk about.

We are beginning or continuing our search for baby stuff, so far it's just research that we've been doing but soon we may know what we need and want. You can help if your are able or want to. no pressure though.

Thank you for your continued support in reading this journal and communicating with us.

My love to you all!

P.S.
Sorry Fran, I was supposed to call you a week ago...I will try you friday...as today is thursday.

baby has a name... [Sep. 5th, 2006|06:19 pm]
[Current Road Rage |chipperchipper]

BABY is called Shalev it means peaceful and tranquil. Her full name is Shalev Esther Abusow-Ziguel. YAY for baby girl!!!

My sister is doing great and she loves her little one so much, it makes me excited to have my own. Kurt officially held the smallest (and youngest) baby he's ever held before in his life. That's cool. He looked so cute with little Shalev.
Lily loves little kids and little babies. It's good but not, because she gets so excited and likes to lick them.
We visited Rachel and Sagi this last weekend and we got to hold the baby and visit. Lucky auntie Maddy got spit-up all over her clothes. And I was the first to experience that, she hadn't puked before, but lucky me I got to see a first.

I'm having clamato juice right now...I think I drank too much because when I want to burp it feels like I'm gonna puke. mmm.

I'm GROWING!!!! [Aug. 31st, 2006|06:51 pm]
[Current Parking Spot |My cold computer room]
[Current Road Rage |coldchilled]
[Current Cruisin' Tunes |chatter of my teeth]

Slowly but surely I am growing...too bad I'm not getting any taller. In fact, because I wear lower shoes, I look really short.and now I'll be getting fatter as well. (yesss)

Rachel still hasn't had her baby and her induction date was today...she went to the hospital this morning and at 4:00pm she hadn't even had any contractions...very slow. She is currently at 42 weeks. So watch out preggo's because everyone I know has had a late baby. (I wish and pray the best for you guys but don't be upset if it doesn't happen right away). God does not give you more than you can handle.

My sister has been handling the last part of her pregnancy very well, she just wants a healthy baby and it's been a long haul for her. (She looked like she was ready to pop at 7 months.) So if you read this today (I guess any day) shoot a little prayer up for the health of both of them.

As for me I'm 16 weeks (2.5 weeks till our ultrasound). Kurt likes to try and listen to the baby in my belly...but I don't know if he can actually hear anything...he thinks he can. Maybe?

Today I'm trying rice-milk...I get really sick when I drink cow milk, but I hear soy-milk isn't that good for the gender development if it's a boy...old wives tale? I don't know? It tastes a little bland and weird...I'm mean I LIKE soy-milk but this??? maybe I'll get used to it. mmm...ricey goodness.

I'm sorry baby...now that you finally have taste-buds...that sucks (maybe you can have chocolate tomorrow:)hee hee.

Funny babies... [Aug. 25th, 2006|05:58 pm]
[Current Parking Spot |sore bum]
[Current Road Rage |dorkydorky]
[Current Cruisin' Tunes |none at all]

So, my sister Rachel got another ultrasound today. She's a little overdue so they just wanted to make sure the babe was alright. Apparently she's having a fairly good-sized baby (Maybe 8-9lbs). With the head estimated at 33cm it may be a little tricky...you know.

A lady I know from work had to have her baby c-sectioned out at 7 months because it was too big...wow! imagine that? and it was a little girl.

If girl babies mean big, I'm not sure I could handle one:) We actually don't care what we get, anything is a blessing.

I'm looking forward to all these little humans running around... the count-down is going very slowly...only 2 so far...and 5 more to go...

I can't wait to really feel the baby kick (the one in my tummy) it will be cool, right now it's only the rare butterfly. Maybe I can wait, seeing how Fran's getting the snot kicked out of her right now:)

Sleepless [Aug. 23rd, 2006|10:10 pm]
[Current Parking Spot |Where else?]
[Current Road Rage |Laxidasical]
[Current Cruisin' Tunes |Edwin McCain on the Radio (I'll Be) Go Delilah]

So today has probably been one of the longest days ever. For some reason unexplained to me I could not sleep last night, I woke up many times, not only that but I even was up wandering around in the middle of the night making myself some warm chicken broth. It finally worked at 5:00 in the morning when I had to get up an hour later...yay!
So I left for work in good time a decided to pick-up a BLT bagel at the fat shop (McDonald's)and then it took a little longer than expected and I was about 5 minutes late for work. Since then I've been half asleep all day and on top of that we are working hard at getting stuff done in the house. I made dinner for my parents b/c they came over to help.

I'm tired!!! but I don't know if I'll actually sleep tonight because I feel the same as yesterday. Plus I don't think I've gone to bed With Kurt once this week.

Right now...if you were wondering... I'm at the "is she fat or pregnant?" stage of my pregnancy, I wasn't sure if it was actually going to happen but yes. it did.

Kurt is almost done running the summer camps this season, so next week we'll hopefully have a little more time, except that he's the best man in his friends wedding on the Sept. long weekend. and he gets to plan a stag party for this coming weekend. Poor Kurt. He works so hard:)that why I love 'im. (the lucky thing for me is I get excluded from doing a lot of work because I'm pregnant...but at least I make him food and try and help out where I can).

Husbands are a wonderful thing.

Well wonder-woman is off to bed...gnight.
